After Utamaro Japanese Woodblock 18th century: A wonderful woodblock attributed to Kitagawa Utamaro. Utamaro was a Japanese artist. He is one of the most highly regarded practitioners of the ukiyo-e genre of woodblock prints. This piece measures 19.75 x 14. It is of a samurai and a geisha. There is light foxing on material mat but the image is not affected. Frame has a few dings.
