Springfield Model 1866 Allen Conversion Rifle: Model 1866 with lock plate dated 1865. 36" barrel 2 band variant. Barrel measures 32 3/8" to the breech face. Chambered for the .50 caliber center fire cartridge. Bridle and its attaching screw are broken with part of the screw remaining in lock plate. A sear that is not installed but appears undamaged is included, along with the broken portion of the bridle screw. Firing pin appears intact but is not functional. Great solid rifle that requires a little work.
