Pair of Antique Chinese Seals
Square Carved Base
Dimensions: 4-5/8” Tall and 1 ½” x 1 ½” in the Base

Seals such as this are used as signatures in Chinese society; they are a form of identity unique to the owner. They are very beautifully crafted, with matching lions carved at the top. In the middle, you can see a very skillfully shaped hollow sphere with extremely delicate and fine designs forming the shell of the sphere. Phonetically, the carvings are “bY li” and “ke ni zi”.
