Eli Whitney Pocket Model Revolver .31 Caliber: Serial number 10041 which makes this a second model, second variation. Some of the letters for E. Whitney, New Haven are still visible in good light under magnification on the top of the barrel flat. Rifling, 7 groove, is still clearly visible. The trigger guard, ball type loading lever, pin and associated hardware are missing, as is the hand. The springs are good but the hammer will not come to a full cock, so may be incorrectly assembled or have a broken internal part. Both grip panels have small chips missing.
