Reliquary, Relics Theca and 1801 Document: Holy Cross, Mary, Joseph, Peter, Paul, King Louis IX, Many Others: Parchment and reliquary came together, but as the seal has been broken, there is no way to completely authenticate the relics therein. The reliquary can be easily repaired to prevent any more damage, so that it can be displayed properly. There are some names on the document that are unreadable. With that in mind, this is a list of what can be translated from the document to match the relics. (question marks signify unreadable text) 1. Sacred partical from the arm of the holy Cross of Jesus Christ at the median of the cruciform repository. AROUND THE OUTSIDE 2. From the veil of the Blessed Ever Virgin Mary. 3. From the cloak of St. Joseph her spouse. FROM THE BONES OF THE SAINTS 4. From John the Baptist. 5. From Zacharia and Elizabeth, his parents. 6. From joachim and Anne, the parents of the Blessed Virgin mary. 7. From Peter the principle Apostle. 8. From Paul the Apostle. 9. From Bonaventure, Cardinal Bishop and doctor. 10. ?? 11. From Ludovic, Bishop of ??. 12. From Dominic, patriarch of the orders of preachers. 13. From Anthony, the Padua ?. 14. From Vincent Ferrer. 15. From Peter of Alcantara. 16. From Peter Regulatus. 17. From Louis, King of France, possibly Louis IX 18. From Didacus of Alcala. 19. From Paschal Baylon. 20. From Aloysius Gonzaga. 21. From Clare of Assisi. AND THE BEATIFIELD 22. From Andrew ??. 23. Cloth soaked with the blood of the stigmata of Francis of Assisi. 29. From the ?? of St. Margaret of Cortona. 30. From the ?? of St. Bernard ??. FROM THE HABITS OF 31. St. Francis of Paola. 32. St. James of ??. 33. St. John of Capistrano. 34. Bl. Thomas of Cori. FROM THE ?? OF 35. St. Cajetan of Theatines (St. Gaetano). 36. St. Catherine of Balogna ?. 37. ?? Provenance: Document and reliquary was owned and kept by one Northeast Ohio Priest for over 60 years. There is no information as to where and when he actually came to have them. This is the only provenance we have for these pieces. Document and relic is shown exactly as it was.
