(4) 1916-1931 Kodak Folding "Autographics": I. & II. The first 2 folding cameras in this lot of four are both Kodak No. 2-C, Model A, 1916-1927, but they have completely different lenses, especially to the serious collector who wants one of every model when there are changes. The one with the nametag "No. 2-C Autgraphic Kodak Jr." has the better lens, an Anastigmat 152mm f 7.7 The other one's nametag says "No. 2-C Kodak Jr.", no mention of the word Autographic, but it is one. The lens has only a rear element, it never had a front element. It was designed that way. Both shutters fire as they should, and the f. stops move smoothly. Both signing doors close tightly, and both have styluses. The format is 3x5.. Take up spools are included. Note: One of the cameras has a missing strut, but that doesn't interfere with the opening and closing of the bed, which works perfectly and locks tightly. This model used No. A-130 rollfilm. III. Kodak No. 3-A Folding Autographic Brownie, 1916-1926. The format is postcard-size, 3 1/4 x 5 1/2. The shutter fires nicely on all speeds, and the f. stops move easily. The glass is clean and clear. This model used No. A-130 rollfilm. IV. No. 1-A Pocket Kodak Series II, 1922-1931, is a different looking "Autographic-style" camera. The word "Autographic" does not appear anywhere in its name or model, but it's still of the style where you can write on the negative in the signing door with the supplied stylus. This one is a later model than the other three. The lens is a focusing Kodak Anastigmat 130mm f. 7.7. The glass is clean and free of any scratches, cracks, fog or fungus. The shutter is a Diomatic No. 0, which works fine on all of its speeds and T & B. The f. stops move smoothly. The waist level viewfinder is clear and bright, and flips to allow both vertical and horizontal photographs, with accompanying tripod holes. The bellows have no pinholes. This model used No. A116 rollfilm. If you are a collector, or just a fan of Autographics, this lot is 4U, as his grandsons would say.
